In support of our work, the GMP gathers and uses personally identifiable information during the course of our various projects and activities. Anyone from whom we collect such information should expect that it will be carefully protected; any use of this information is subject to consent in accordance with PIPEDA and provincial legislation in Alberta, British Columbia, and Quebec. GMP privacy practices are designed to achieve this.

The Information We Collect

During normal website usage, you can visit our site without communicating any personally identifiable information. However, to make use of certain features on our site, such as volunteering, memberships, receiving email updates or donating, users will need to register with us online. GMP does not collect personally identifiable information about individual users except when voluntarily and knowingly provided by such individuals. Login or additional personal information may be required to use future services offered. Only information that is needed to offer the service will be required.

Personally Identifiable Information is any information that can be used to distinguish, identify, or contact a specific individual. This information can include an individual's opinions or beliefs, as well as facts about, or related to, the individual. Exceptions: business contact information and certain publicly available information, such as emails, addresses, and telephone numbers as published online and in telephone directories, are not considered Personally Identifiable Information. Information in the public domain is not subject to privacy legislation and as such is not included in this policy. If clients use their home contact information as business contact information, the GMP considers that the contact information provided is business contact information, and is not therefore subject to protection as Personally Identifiable Information. We never disclose details about donors, volunteers, members or subscribers without consent, however.

The types of personally identifiable information that may be collected at these pages include name, email address, address, telephone number, and information about your occupation, education, interests in volunteering options. We also may collect certain non-personally identifiable information when you visit our Web pages, such as the type of browser and operating system you are using, and the domain name of your Internet service provider. We do not make any association between this information and a visitor’s identity.
